Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon and Crash star Ryan Philippe’s divorce was officially finalized last friday. They are now free to marry other people.
Reese filed for divorce last November, after seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
The ex-couple have yet to settle their finances and the custody arrangements of their two children, Ava, eight, and three-year-old Deacon. Phillippe has filed for joint physical custody of the couple’s children and Reese has requested that the court not grant spousal support for Phillippe.
Reese has recently spoke of the emotional breakdown she had suffered after her marriage ended. “Right around Christmas time I was sitting in a parking lot and I felt like I just couldn’t get out of the car. It was like, ‘I can’t get out of the car.’
“I thought, ‘OK, half of the parking lot has dealt with this. More than half of the parking lot has dealt with this. OK, let’s make it a little bigger.”

Ryan, has also spoke of his pain, describing the divorce as “the most personally devastating time in my life”.
It has been reported that Britney called up ex-husband Kevin Federline and threatened to commit suicide over their latest custody battle developments.
While Britney requested for more visitation, the judge only granted her one day a week with her sons. She was supposedly so upset that she dialed up K-Fed’s digits to complain as she drove down Los Angeles’ Mulholland Drive.
According to News Of The World sources, an angry Britney screamed at him, “I’m going to drive off the cliff! It’s going to be your fault that I killed myself.”
Another insider said of the incident, “Britney blows hot and cold. No one knows what’s going through her mind - especially her.”
It seems that Britney Spears is reportedly in a rush to release her new album later this month, two weeks earlier than planned. This is due to the fact that some recordings have leaked online.
The album, titled Blackout, which was originally scheduled for US release on November 13, is reportedly set to hit stores on October 30th.
Gimmie More was the first single and was the supposedly “comback” single. A rumored comeback tour to accompany the release of Blackout.
Lindsay Lohan has blamed her parents’ divorce for her wild behavior.
She tells In Touch Weekly magazine: “I think it was really important for me to get a connection back with my dad because I hadn’t had that in a while.
“I can relate to other people who don’t have both parents or have parents that are separated. It can be hard and draining on the children and the family.
She was quoted saying, “I think the trouble in my family resulted in me rebelling and doing things to try to get my parents’ attention. But all in all, it’s better for me now to have them (in my life). It’s healthy.”
Lindsay Lohan was preparing to leave Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah, where she’s been trying to get herself back together for close to two months.
Michael Lohan, her father, exclusively told E! Online he was at the facility Friday afternoon helping pack her bags. Michael Lohan said that Lindsay is in “a stronger place than ever”.
The 21-year-old actress will be heading back to Los Angeles to begin shooting her new movie, the romantic drama Dare to Love Me.
She will also to continue treatment as an outpatient at a Cirque-affiliated facility in the area.
She has been photographed hiking and biking and her daily to-do list included activities such as yoga, equine therapy, river rafting and journal-writing.
“It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable, because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs,” she said in a statement in August.
“I very much want to be healthy and gain control of my life and career, and have asked for medical help in doing so. I am taking these steps to improve my life. Luckily, I am not alone in my daily struggle and I know that people like me have succeeded. Maybe with time it will become easier. I hope so.”

McCartney is currently in studios writing and recording for his third album expected to be released sometime in 2008.
TMZ is reporting several reasons on why Britney may have lost custody of her kids.
Last month, L.A. County Commissioner Scott Gordon ordered Spears to do a number of things in order to maintain 50/50 custody.
Spears was ordered to meet with a drug counselor, submit to drug testing, enroll in parenting classes, but she failed to do any of these things.
Spears was also required to sign the judge’s order, again, she failed to do this.
Last Friday, Commissioner Gordon prohibited both Spears and K-Fed from driving the children unless they had a valid California driver’s license. Spears is currently only on a valid Louisiana license.
Britney Spears has officially lost physical custody of her two children.
L.A. County Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon issued an order on Monday, stating that Kevin Federline, “is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM until further order of the court.”
Judge Gordon had ordered Spears to undergo random drug testing and take parenting classes.
X17 reported that Spears took the kids to the drive-thru at Carl’s Jr. at 12:02PM this afternoon and surrendered the kids to K-Fed’s bodyguard three minutes later.
