High school musical star has made a public statement apologizing for the revealing pictures of her that were leaked through the internet a few days ago. Hudgens released a statement on September 7th saying, “I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust mean the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends.”

The release of the photos started rumors about Vanessa being fired off the still in negotiation High School Musical 3. Despite this, Disney still has her back. The Disney Channel also appears to be standing by its leading lady.

“Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she’s learned a valuable lesson,” Patti McTeague, a spokespersom for the network said.

Hudgens, is dating fellow High School Musical star, Zac Efron.
